Celebrate the East Asian Moon Festival through the expressive art of traditional Chinese brush painting at The Dayton Woman’s Club.
During this guided workshop, Dr. Yufeng Wang, an award-winning artist and professor at Sinclair College, will introduce guests to Chinese ink-and-wash techniques as they create a painting inspired by one of two seasonal subjects: Thriving Peonies in the Moonlight or The Legendary Moon-Lady.
Chinese brush painting focuses on capturing the spirit, movement and energy of a subject rather than exact visual replication. Participants will be introduced to traditional brushwork and techniques as they create their own artwork in a relaxed, welcoming setting. No prior experience is needed.
Registration includes all painting materials, one complimentary drink (wine, beer or soda) and light snacks.
We are open to the general public. Our venue is fully accessible with a ramp entrance.
Cancellations are required at least 3 days prior to the event. No refunds will be given after that date.
