Ph.D., Colonel, USAF, Retired

Join us for a special Women Veterans Day event honoring the service, leadership, and sacrifices of women in the United States Armed Forces.

This program will bring our community together to recognize the women who have served our country, often while breaking barriers, expanding opportunities, and helping shape the future of America’s military. Women veterans have served with courage, skill, and dedication across generations, and their stories deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

Women Veterans Day commemorates the anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, signed into law on June 12, 1948. This landmark legislation allowed women to serve as permanent, regular members of the U.S. military, creating a lasting place for women in America’s armed forces.

Lt. Col. Charlynda J. Scales
United States Air Force Reserve

The evening will be led by Master of Ceremonies Cassie Barlow, Ph.D., Colonel, United States Air Force, Retired, former commander of the 88th Air Base Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a respected leader in education and workforce development.

The featured speaker will be Lt. Col. Charlynda J. Scales, United States Air Force Reserve, a veteran leader, entrepreneur, author, and civic advocate whose work has supported military programs, small businesses, and communities across Ohio.

Guests are invited to gather for an evening of recognition, reflection, and community as we honor the women who have served and continue to serve our country.
