About Dr. Yufeng Wang

Dr. Yufeng Wang is a professor and a Chinese brush painting artist. As a teenager, her love of traditional Chinese art was inspired by renowned artists Sun Qifeng and Fan Zeng in Tianjin, China. Collected by the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, the Dayton International Peace Museum, University of Dayton, Wright State University, and Sinclair College, and the East-West Center of Hawaii, Wang’s paintings create a sense of peace and harmony in nature and humanity.

Dr. Wang’s paintings and sculptures received many awards. Her solo art exhibitions include Seasons in Harmony at Wright State University in April 2012, and Peace and Thriving at the Springboro Arts Center in March 2023. In 2018, the University of Dayton Marian Center commissioned her to make a ceramic sculpture, Love and Grace, which is a Chinese rendering of the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. With ancient Chinese dress, underglaze painting of roses, and the traditional character of Love as a centerpiece of decoration, the sculpture conveys universal love, grace, and tranquility.

Dr. Wang has enjoyed sharing Chinese art in the community and local schools. They included workshops at the Dayton Association of Artists, The Cincinnati Art Museum, Dayton Art Institute, Dayton Metro Public Library, Dayton Woman’s Club, Wright State University, Sinclair College, the Dayton Business and Technology High School, the Dayton Art in the City in 2022 and 2023, and more. In 2022, her artwork and story were featured in the WYSO public radio station’s Studio Visit by Susan Byrnes.
