Discover the Art of Ikebana
Ikebana is the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging that combines creativity, mindfulness, and the beauty of nature.
In this hands-on workshop led by instructor Yuuka Ishiu, participants will create their own arrangement to take home while learning the basic principles of ikebana. One of the unique features of ikebana is that the same flowers and branches can be transformed into completely different artistic designs simply by changing the arrangement's style or form.
Participants will be able to take home the plastic suiban, one kenzan, and the flowers used during the workshop. The arrangement shown is an example, and the actual flowers used on the day of the workshop will be different.
Just as a potato can become baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, soup, or French fries, the same floral materials can be arranged in many different ways. This encourages creativity, flexibility, and a new way of seeing beauty.
Working with flowers also offers a peaceful, relaxing experience, allowing participants to slow down, focus on nature, and enjoy a moment of mindfulness.
No previous experience is necessary—beginners are warmly welcome.
We are open to the general public. Our venue is fully accessible with a ramp entrance.
Cancellations must be requested at least 3 days before the event. No refunds will be given after that date.
